Newton Faulkner - Hand Built By Robots (CD 2007)

I've been looking forward to hearing more material by Newton since seeing him support James Morrison in February. On the night I bought the UFO E.P. and absolutely loved the songs on it.

I bought Hand Built By Robots yesterday and wasn't disappointed. My personal favourite songs at the moment are Feels Like Home, I Need Something, Dream Catch Me and Teardrop. I know that cover versions of classic songs like Teardrop aren't to everyone's taste but if you like cover versions like those on the Radio 1 Live Lounge this eclipses many of those covers! I think there are a number of other great songs on there and I'm sure my list of favourites will increase with even more listens.

Having seen him live I think that some of the sounds that Newton produces from what most of the time is just an acoustic guitar is fantastic! If you like the album definitely go and see him live as well.

I'd recommend anyone who likes the current crop of singer songwriters developing in the UK like James Morrison and Paolo Nutini and other artists like Ben Harper to check this out.

Heard a couple of his songs on the radio, so decided to buy the album. So glad I did as it one of my top albums of last year.... Easy to listen to and love his voice....... BUY IT!!!!!!!

Heard Newton Faulkner on on a BBC program a month or two ago and was blown away!
Bought the album immediately and was not dissapointed.
If you like funky, folky acoustic guitar, this is the guy for you. He's fresh, original non-manufactured, just pure raw talent.
Could compare vocal quality to Damien Rice I suppose, but without the razor blades - far more up beat! More like a male version of KT Tunstall.

Have recently seen Newton live and have to say how amazing he was. All the beats,and other sounds are made by himself. I would recommend anyone has a addition for live usic to but this album and then see him live!

Met him on the train before he was famous. Played me a quick tune from his first album! Lovely guy and a great guitar player. Buy it you will not be disappointed.

absolute rubbish no front cover. highly covered in scratches. im suprised it even still plays the 3 out of 17 songs that are o the disc from the state of the cd. there was one good thing delivery time and that was down to the postman! i will not be purchasing any furhter items off this user and i suggest that you dont either. what a waste of money and time

GREAT COVER VERSION OF MASSIVE ATTACK'S HIT TEARDROP. NICE EASY TO LISTEN TO. WELL PERFORMED. JUST LOVE NEWTON'S VOCALS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This guy is terrific. Original sound, great melodies whilst remaining soulful. Newton is a British pearl of new music. Look forward to any new material in the future.

What can I say, this album is without one the BEST album of last year. All the song are clever and catchy, I can't wait for his next album.

totally addictive album just hope its the first of many!! for any one who loved the album by jack jones this is a must hve

Easy listening recording, a bit like James Blunt, but all the track are excellent. My wife particularly liked this CD.

Bought for the love of the song "dream catch me" and i love the rest of them it is a really good album!!!

Love the CD. This seller offered it at a good price. The CD is brilliant, sultry, rocky, jazzy, folky Faulkener offers any sound but all with a touch of class.

only bought this for his version of massive attacks teardrop which is my all time fave. Great album though well worth a listen

This was a cd that i purchased because I had heard one song that I liked and I must admit it is a real find. Easy to listen to from the off and would recommend it!

love it. a lovely mix of original inspiring thought provoking, tracks. a must if you fancy something better than a lot of drivvle that you hear, definitely a cd for the real musician who appreciates other musicians work.

liked the songs the 1st few times then they bored me few good tracks but nothing that i wanted to play over and over and over and is that 100 letters yet??

This has been on my Ipod for ages and ive never listened to it, which i found strange because i like his songs that have bin in the charts. Anyway i went running on saturday and put his album on, what can i say its fantastic and has been on ever since. His music is so easy listening and it just leaves you wanting more... give it a try.

Great CD the man is very talented and is worth a listen. If you like Jack Johnson You will like this.

This is the best money you'll spend in a while...fabulous album!
you would look at him and think, where does that voice come from?!
Melodic, soulfull, a fantastic tone...his voice will melt your heart.
His cover of massive attacks 'teardrop' is truly one of the best i have heard...it mixes in to the album perfectly with catchy tunes like UFO and Gone in the morning...while All I Got and Dream Catch Me are the ultimate in chill out tunes.
BUY! Theres NO WAY you'll be dissapointed...best talent to hit britain in a while...and its about time too!
