Motorola V50 Cell Phone

THIS PHONE IS VERY SMALL BUT QUITE GOOD BUT WOULD NOT BE UP TO DATE WITH MODERN PHONES I ONLY GOT IT TO FIT MY CAR KIT ON MY X5

Excellent Basic Phone Compact Phone, NO GIMMICKS, just an honest compact phone that doesnt let you down, I dont text so cannot tell you if it is any good for that. can be picked up cheap on e bay, I have three of them, recently refurbished one of them with a new case bought on ebay for £5.00. Have to warn you that the replacement of the casing is not for the faint hearted one has to be careful on dismantling and renewing the new case, once done it is perfect brings the phone back to new condition.

I just love this phone but compared to say a Nokia 902... its chalk and cheese.
The style & design of the phone was ahead of its time but the functionality of it is a different matter, for example texting takes a lot to be desired & takes time to get used to compared to a modern phone. The sreeen is small and not easy to read, the lighting from the 4 l.e.d's lights from the top of the screen is poor in low light -nothing like the brightnes of a modern screen.
If you don't want a camera and all the other benefits of a modern phone and are looking for a claassic, then look no further. Saying this...this phone is already a a retro claasic & allready copied/ refurbed with new casing by Hong Kong companies!!....get a good well loved or not so used 2nd hand unit
{if you can get one } and enjoy !

Although some of the phones look like a GREAT deal,you must be very careful to check all feedback and comments as many of them are cheap and plastic and are not worth the money paid for them.
This is a shame since there are many excellent products too.

This phone is the pits of all phones. I bought it because it fits in the hands free of my BMW 5 series. (Why on earth this phone was fitted into such a nice car I will never work out!)

It is so hard to text on, slow to show the digits and has buttons that are so small even my small fingertips press two at once sometimes.

This phone is so old that the menu system is outdated and so very, very difficult to use. It takes a minute to get into the phone book to find a number and to manage to dial it without hitting wrong buttons.

Signal and sound quality are however, excellent on this phone and it is very small and compact (probably why it has no decent functions on it)

All in all it is a bit like a toilet... it does the job that I bought it for,but you wouldn't want to show it off to your friends! Its practical in the hands free in the car and will stop me from getting a ban....

on purchasing a secondhand bmw x5.
the motorola v50 in this model had been well used.
found e-bay easy to source a used ,good condition v50 motorola,
good phone,does just what it's supposed to.

purchased as the only phone that would fit the comms pack for the car make sure you by the bmw phone otherwise all thtelephone functions may not work i purchased this because the their is no option for blue tooth

i bought this to go in my bmw 525. However with a phone of this age the menu screens are the easy to work with.
This phone is now very old and out of date compared to the mordern motor rola's and nokias. No mp3's only monophonic ring tones, no camera.....however it does do what i need it to do which is make and recieve a call...and to send and read text messages.
It works a treat in the car though...

I was fed up with all these modern phones which are big and bulky have crappy features and rubbish cameras. Therefore I bought this Motorola V50. It is very compact (even by todays standards), looks great, makes calls, sends and receives text messages, has an alarm and also voice recording features. I am sure there are others but I haven't explored that far yet.
If you are looking for something a bit retro and quirky you can't go far wrong with one of these.

The V50 was last made in 2003? It is a good compact phone and does every thing i need i,e. make phone calls, I own a camera and a PC so do not want all the things a modern phone can do. And mainly, my car is wired for hands free in every way for the V50, I now have enough of them to see me out!

I purchased the V50 to place in the hands free system in my BMW, the phone is simple to operate, the functions and technical spec is not like the newer phones on the market but in the day when the V50 was new it would have been an excellent phone.

I purchased two mobile phones, motorola v50, both of which work perfectly well but neither is compatible with the multifunctional steering wheel of my BMW.
It transpires that the phones are factory fitted and require to be configured with the necessary software. The original phone was stolen from the car and was obviously an integral feature. Both phones bought through ebay function satisfactorily but unfortunately they do not operate in conjunction with the multifunctional steering wheel.I should be grateful for any advice regarding the return of this facility.

I had one of the Motorola v3688 phones back in 1999. When they first came out they were the worlds smallest phone and cost around 300 quid. Even today they are smaller than the average cell phone, and very light. Easy to use, good looking and improved over the V3688, the V50 is an excellent all round cell phone.

The purchase was made to fit inside my car so that I could use the hands free system on my steering wheel controls. The phone itself works. The condition of the handset was so poor that I contacted the seller who refunded £10. I would have taken this further had it not been that it was the software that I really needed. The phone was cosmetically very poor and rather fragile due to wear and tear. As the phone remains almost hidden in its cradle in the car I could not be bothered to persue the issue. It's too much hassle to keep on and on contacting sellers who do not see your point of view. What happens is that either no feedback is left or an apology for a positive is posted so that both parties enhance their status (to the detriment of others). Much more monitoring is required to weed out poor sellers (not this one particularly).

After my recent purchase of a new (USED)car a BMW 728 model with its awesome looks and electric everything, Upon inspection it was missing its original phone which these days is a must to all drivers.
The phone works superbly when it is connected and is so clear when speaking to all my friends when i am driving around on business trips up and down the motorway.
I would recommend it to anyone as it is so simply to use and very versatile and light in weight.
