  2 must have British films
Review created: 02/12/08

Layer Cake is a more serious/sinister film in the vein of Snatch/Lock Stock.
Lots of different characters, all after one thing.. money.. and the film shows how their paths cross.
I feel it is not as good as the others as it is too serious, and therefore not as enjoyable/entertaining to watch.. when you realise there are such nasty people in the world.
But still excellent entertainment.
.
Following on from the success of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is Snatch.
It follows in a similar vein, multi character profiles, which eventually all intertwine. Jason Statham reprises his role (but different character) as a London geezer.. and this film went upmarket slightly by using Brad Pitt in a supporting role. He plays a Traveller (best, most true to life portrayal I have ever seen) who is a champion fighter.
The through running story is about a stolen diamond, that everyone wants to get their hands on.
I still struggle to choose which of these two films I prefer.
