  The best album I own

Before buying this I had only heard their single - one-armed scissor - so I was hoping it was an album full of songs like that. It isn't, each song is distinct and brilliant on it's own, outside the context of the album, due to the brilliant combination of violently harsh music and excellently put together words. Their other albums were a bit of a letdown in comparison, but you have to hear this, even if you've heard it's not good. Just listen to it, then judge it.

I had heard many good things about At The Drive-In, but never owned any material of theirs. So when I saw their last to be ever made album on e-Bay, I had to have it! I can say it's one of my greatest ideas...it's easily one of the best albums I've bought in a long time. The music is infectious, full of adrenaline, mind-blowing and you can't help but scream along to the lead vocalist’s aggressive, energetic roar. His voice is like nothing else, seriously. Each of the 11 tracks has gritty guitars and gnarly drum beats. Even the couple of songs I may have thought kinda bad at first grow on you without you even realising it until you notice you’re singing it aloud on the crowded bus. So, if you like fast-paced rock that couldn’t get much better, I’d definitely recommend you should own this album. It will make you cool.

Where At the Drive-In got it right.
Review created: 04/06/09

The album that launched them mainstream and turned At the Drive-In into one of the biggest bands in the world. Who hasn't heard One Armed Scissor?!?

And the rest of the album is even better. With tracks like Arc Arsenal and Rolodex Propaganda (featuring Iggy Pop) this is THE quintisessential hardcore album.

At the drive In... Make mine a Big Mac!
Review created: 16/11/08

Its not a bad album by any means. You'll struggle to find another band that sounds like em, so comparisons are pointless. Loud, Aggressive, shouty Noisey punky type rock, is the best I can do to describe it. Hasnt aged well. But still worth a listen. I dont see how it can be labled along with metal as it just doesnt have enough weight behind it. Riffs, melodies are aggressive but without the depth you'd want from a metal band. It just needs a little something extra to make it a wicked album. After a few listens I find it easy to forget. All sounds a little light weight now.
