28 Weeks Later Mini Review (No Spoilers)

This is the sequel of the movie "28 days later" which takes as 6 months after the first one. All the infected have died of starvation and London is beginning to repopulate. Again something goes wrong and everybody is running for their lives.
This is pretty much the synopsis of the movie. The scenery (central London) is nice and special effects are ok also. The movie has nothing more to show you than the first one and it is not a movie that you are going to remember for more than a week.
If you like gore, blood and splatter then this movie is for you. If you want a plot, some descent acting and a good script then see something else.
Surely not a movie to buy but a movie to rent when you are with your friends.
The most annoying thing was the camera shots which is like an infected has the camera on his hands when he is running.

  28 Days Later
Review created: 17/03/09

I saw the remake of The Tomorrow People recently and was mightily impressed by just one actress, Naomi Harris. Otherwise, it was a dreadful travesty compared to the original series of the 1970s. I bought 28 Days Later on DVD purely because Naomi Harris was in it - and I did not waste my money. In fact, there are no poor performances in this even though Ms Harris steals almost every scene in which she appears. The entrance of Christopher Eccleston (who now has his acting career indelibly marked as 'The 8th Doctor Who') as a slightly psychotic army major over half way through the film is an added bonus. This is a post-apocalyptic film which owes a debt (which is probably intentional) to the 1970s series Survivors. Despite the extreme violence and gore, this is a cut above the usual slash and bleed genre of horror films. The premise is that a group of animal rights activists unwittingly unleash a plague upon Britain when they free animals infected with a virus carried in bodily fluids. So who is to blame, the animal liberation front or the scientists who invented the virus initially? This intelligent sub-plot carries the film which, supported by generally excellent acting from the main characters, I can thoroughly recommend. It's denouement is a little contrived which accounts for my less than excellent rating; nonetheless, I can endorse this film without other qualification. I have yet to see the sequel. Andy Martin (UNIT).

28 Days later/ 28 Weeks later DVD Boxset
Review created: 07/10/08

I love these DVD's. I'm into the Horrors, especially the blood and gore ones, and most especially Zombie movies. That's why i chose to buy these DVD's. As soon as they arrived, i stuck them in the player, and i wasn't dissapointed. They arrived in decent timing, and in great condition. I've had no problems, and they've continued to live up to an excellent standard. I went for this boxset due to the pricing, as for a zombie boxset, it was brilliantly priced. Overall, i absolutely love it.

28 weeks later, It makes you think !!
Review created: 04/02/08
by:

I watched "28 weeks later" last night and I is brilliant. It certainly makes you think, could it ever happen. Why not , my answer. With all the chemical warfare that is talked about in the news lately, I certainly wonder.
It had me on the edge of my chair almost all the way through the film, I nearly jumped out of it at one point. Robert Carlisle is excellent in the film, I man of many faces definitely but in this film I think he was at his most frightening.
"28 weeks later as well as 28 days later are two of my favourite films, ones that I would watch again and again, and can't wait for the next film.
