Originally released on A&M (540 551)."Let's Make A Night To Remember" was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, and "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You" was nominated for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance. On 18 TIL I DIE, Bryan Adams abandons the MOR ballad format that made him a household name, in favor of a raw, unfettered approach. With the aid of producer Mutt Lange (who adds some guitar as well), Adams has assembled a raucous group of songs high on energy and low on gloss. The majority of the tracks on 18 TIL I DIE are powered by heavily-distorted guitar and insistent drums. In addition to his new predilection for raw-bones rockers, Adams seems to have developed an irreverent sense of humor; note the lascivious, offbeat lyrics of "The Only Thing That Looks Good On Me Is You" and "(I Wanna Be) Your Underwear." In fact, his newfound lewdness might make this the first Bryan Adams album ever to be disapproved of by parents. Most likely, though, mom and dad will be pacified by "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman," the soft, romantic megahit from the movie "Don Juan De Marco" that is the exception to Adams' new rocking rule. Reviews Review created: 03/03/08 by: I bought this item to add to my collection of Bryan Adams music. I have this album on cassette tape already but decided to buy the CD because I wanted to load it onto my MP3 player via my PC. I love all Bryan Adams music. I bought this fantastic album after being fortunate enough to see the great man in concert at Blickling Hall in July - WOW! (The support artists, Raemonn, are worth a look too - they're excellent!) His music, the 'heavy' stuff and the ballads, are very much to the musical tastes of me and my family. I also like a lot of the words - some of the lyrics are quite cheecky! At its best, this CD is excellent. At its worst, its very good. Well liked by all my family. Highly recommended. Review ID: 10000000001791760 Was this review helpful? I liked a few of his songs so I thought it'd be fun to go. So I bought a few of his cds so I'd know some of them. I couldn't stop listening to this album! I love it! An d I looked like I'd known them for years when I was singing along! Review ID: 10000000001651705 Was this review helpful? Report this review 0 of 1 people found this review helpful. I v'e been looking for the CD for quite some time. obviously, the CD itself is wonderful. On Ebay, it's really who you buy it from counts. I always read feedback before I make a purchase, and obviuosly, via Paypal will be quite safe. (at the end of the day, as a buyer, you won't get charge) Sometime, I turst the "shop" seller, as long as the feedback is good.(doesn't mean it has to be 100% positive, there are some bad people tried to make trouble). This is why the seller I buy from is excerllent.they gives wonderful service, and very friendly. also, remember, you pay for what you get. I have to say, Ebay is a place to reference for the fair market value. have fun. Review ID: 10000000001289875 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
